Our take
The DDJ-800 is a premium 2-channel controller that feels solid and professional. I love the illuminated jog wheels and the wide range of built-in effects – the Dub Echo and Roll are particularly fun. Having XLR outputs is great for club setups, and the phono preamps mean you can connect turntables directly. However, it's expensive for a 2-channel unit, and the 1-month warranty is practically nonexistent. The 44.1 kHz sampling is also behind the curve. If you need a high-quality compact controller for gigs, it's excellent, but the warranty is a major risk.
